Rangers travelled back to Deal today, to meet Betteshanger in the Cup. Following the heavy defeat nearly 2 months ago, Rangers had much to improve upon. The new kit was unveiled at the game. Rangers were now wearing a Nike kit, sponsored by the Football Foundation.
The game was very tight, and evenly matched. Rangers opened the scoring after Stonebridge was brought down in the penalty area, and he then went on to score from the spot. At half time it was 1 - 0 to Rangers. A rattled Betteshanger came out into the second half, trying to get something from the game. Soon after it was 1 - 1. Rangers players were limping as injuiries cropped up again. With the subs missing for this game, the players battled on. The game ended 3 - 1 to Betteshanger. The Rangers team done the club and themselves proud as they evenly matched a team that almost 2 months ago were far superior. So many positives in the game. The only negative was the lack of substitutes that turned up for the game. If we had substitutes, then the injured could have been replaced and the game would have ended with a different result. With so many contenders for the Man of the Match Award, the medal went to Stonebridge for his excellent work rate around the pitch, which never stopped after he hit the injury list.

Rangers played their second Home game, but this time it was actually in Dover. Rangers took hold of the game in the first half, and put on a comfortable performance. In the second half, the away side came on the attack, and played a good game. 3 penalties were given against Rangers. The first was saved by Curtis, the second was a goal and the third was placed wide. The game ended 7 - 5 to Rangers, and showed a much improved side to those seen in previous weeks. Stonebridge scored a hatrick in his debut and Winkler got on the score sheet for the second week running. Man of the match went to Connor.

20/09/09
Rangers travelled to Ramsgate to face Hugin Vikings. After a strong performance, Rangers found themselves tralling 1 - 0 due to a silly defensive error. Not long after, the score was 1 -1 after Winkler scored on his debute. Rangers applied the pressure. Burt scored, though the referee made the poor decision to rule it offside. Shortly afterwards, Winkler put the ball in the back of the net. A Hugin player kicked the ball out of the net, and the referee took that as a clearance'. During the dispute, Hugin went the other end and scored. Rangers continued to battle on. Hugin again scored after punching the ball into the net. A decision that again went against Rangers as this goal stood. Soon after, from another defensive error, Hugin made it 4 - 1. There were 25minutes left and Rangers were feeling rather hard done by. Heads staid raised as Rangers continued to battle on. Winkler made it 4- 2 and soon after, Connor netted, bringing the score to 4 -3. Rangers were down to 10 men as Burt limped off with a foot injury. With 4 minutes to go, Winkler got his hatrick. The game ended 4 - 4, bringing the first point of the season, though some would argue that it should have been all 3. Man of the match went to Winkler.

Last seasons league table page has finally been updated. It appears that due to a points deduction for Dynamo United, Rangers actually finished 3rd place.

Todays fixture should have been Rangers first Home fixture against Betteshanger C/W, though due to pitch shortages in Dover, the match was held in Deal at Marke Woods.
Rangers started the match comfortably, though after just 20mins, 2 players had to be substituted due to injuries. The strenght of Betteshanger was too overwhelming and goals began to flow. At half time, Rangers trailed 8 - 0.  A final change was made at half time. Shortly into the 2nd, captain Hopper limped off the pitch and Rangers were down to 10 players. The final result was 17 - 0 to Betteshanger, which left a shellshocked Rangers planning for the training field. There were many positives to be taken from the match and the team can only get better. Man of the match went to Morrison.

06/09/09
Rangers kicked off their season away to Highfield United. This was the teams first performance together. After a comfortable first half, Rangers went into the break level with the home side. Shortly into the second half, the home side broke the deadlock with a chip over the keeper. Rangers were still in the game and created chances of their own but failed to hit the target. The home side scored 2 more goals and took all 3 points after a disappointing second half performance. There were postives to be taken away from the game. Man of the match went to the captain for following the managers instructions and never giving up.

Rangers took part in the Ashford Borough FC Tournament. On this very hot and sunny day, Rangers entered the field as the under dogs, as we pitched against the top teams from the East Kent Youth League, Maidstone Minor League and the Kent Youth League. The team done the club proud after their performances against top ranking teams. Unfortunately they failed to progress, after only gaining a point against Ashford Borough, and losing all remaining games. Player of the Tournament went to Morrison for his high work rate.

29/03/09
Yesterdays trip to Wembley was a success and enjoyed by all, as we all saw inside the great Wembley Stadium, the unveiling of the new England kit and a great team performance which saw 4 great goals.

Rangers played their final game of the season, at Home to Dynamo United. The events of the previous day was evident as Rangers put on the most tired of performances ever. In the first half, every pass was a tired effort. The away team were gifted with 3 goals in the first half as Rangers failed to get going. The second half saw Rangers play better football. Captain Hopper got a goal back after he rocketed a shot close to the half way line. This was Rangers first shot on target in the game, and what a result! Another goal came later when Masters headed in from a corner. Rangers looked like they might pull off a master result after playing the better football in the second, but 2 sloppy moments allowed Dynamo to grab 2 more goals, and put the game beyond reach. There were a number of contenders for Rangers Man of the match, and it went to Holland for his performance in the mid field. This result will mean that Rangers will probably finish the season in 4th place.

27/03/09
With just one day to go we are still waiting for payment from 8 members of the team. Please can you arrange the payments asap as we do not want to be in a situation where monies are paid on the day, meaning someone has the responsibility of carrying large amounts of monies to a busy Wembley stadium.

22/03/09
Rangers travelled to Ashford to face Highfield United on a ground that has always proven to be difficult to play on. On this hot day, with only 11 players available and the home side with a full squad, this was always going to be a difficult fixture. Rangers played the first half comfortably, with plenty of chances. With 10 minutes to go, Rangers were caught sleeping when the home side took a quick throw in, to a player that crossed the ball into the danger area. Only the keeper was alert, but he was drawn off his line, for the striker to tap into an open goal. Soon into the second half, Rangers were down to 10 men when Scott limped off with an ankle injury. Burt soon brought the two sides level. As the half continued, the extra man and use of substitutes for the home side started to show the advantage. Soon after Burts equaliser, the home side were 2 - 1 up again. Rangers were suffering as Thomas was struggling with tired legs and Hopper was playing with cut knees and a bruised foot. As Highfield continually pushed forward to finish the game, the battling Rangers actually played the advantage as they managed to clear their line and send Stoner in on goal. Unfortunatley he shot high. Soon after, Rangers cleared their line and Stoner was again in on goal, this time he made no mistake, Rangers were level. Highfield sent more bodies forward to try to get a winning goal. Again, Rangers cleared their line and sent Stoner in on goal. GOAL! For the first time in the game Rangers were leading with a very long 6 minutes on the clock. As Highfield sent everyone forward, Rangers dug in deep. To the relief of everyone, the whistle was blown and Rangers took all the points in this great team performance that showed a team succeeding under all odds. Man of the match went to Hopper for literally shedding Blood, Sweat and Tears for the team.

Rangers were away to Deal Town. With a number of players missing, including the regular keeper, Rangers performance was also sadly missing. Deal Town took all points after a score line of 5 - 1. Stoner scored in the first half to give Rangers a little hope at 2 - 1. Man of the match could not be given after this performance.

21/02/09
Final call regarding the England game. Still lacking in numbers, and I need to know by 3pm all names and numbers.

15/02/09
Rangers were home to Woodnesborough. Within the first 15 minutes, both keepers were called upon to make crucial saves. Rangers went ahead after Weakley netted the ball from a corner. The visitors responded with a goal. Rangers were looking tired at the break, but put all their efforts into the second half, raising the tempo. Burt put the home side ahead again, but this was soon cancelled out by another Woodnesborough equaliser. Soon after, Burt scored again, though this was disallowed after the away side linesman flagged to say Stoner, who was declared to be in an offside position, helped the ball over the line. In response, Rangers regained possession and Stoner finished with a great strike to put Rangers ahead once more. Soon after, Woodnesborough equalised again and it wasn't too long before the visitors were ahead with only 10 minutes left on the clock. Rangers raised the pace once more.  Burt got his second of the game to draw the sides level, with 5 minutes to go. The home side continued to apply pressure. With what was to be the final kick of the game, Rangers had a corner kick. Lambell took the kick, which swerved towards the goal. The ball was too high for the keeper to control, and the ball was fumbled into the net.
That was the last action of the game. With a final score of 5 - 4, Rangers had taken all 3 points. Man of the match went to Humphries for his efforts on the wing.

07/02/09
The snow and frosty conditions which has gripped the nation, has forced another training session to be cancelled. We will be back next weekend.

Final Notice regarding the England v Slovakia game at Wembley Stadium. We need to know names and numbers ASAP. At the moment the numbers given are low, but I will look at booking some tickets by the end of the weekend. We will look at booking a coach, but this will depend on the numbers.

Ramsgate Youth FC, Under 16's have withdrawn from the League. This means that all points gained against Ramsgate Youth will be wiped off the league Table. This is a blow to Rangers, as to date, we were the only team to win against Ramsgate Youth, thus we will be the only team to lose 3 points. Hugin Vikings will lose 1 point as they drew against Ramsgate Youth.

18/01/09
Rangers travelled to Ashford for todays fixture against Park Farm Rangers FC. The sides were tied 0-0 at the break. Shortly into the second half, the home side scored from a free kick. Rangers responded positively to the goal and were level soon after from a Stoner goal. Rangers continued to pile on the pressure, creating chances, though another goal never came. This game came after a 4 week break due to Christmas and bad weather. Rangers put up a strong fight throughout the halves and showed strengths in all positions. The game ended 1 - 1. Man of the match went to Betts for his efforts at Right Back.

31/12/08
The cancelled match 'Highfield United v White Cliffs Rangers FC' has been rescheduled for Sunday 11th January 2009.
We will resume training Saturday 10th January, so it is crucial that we are all in attendence to prepare for the game on the Sunday.
We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year with happiness and success for all.

14/12/08
Rangers were hosts to League leaders Hugin Vikings Colts FC. Hugin got under way, when a corner ball was delivered in, and into the top corner. Rangers took a while to get into the game, and got their first from a great piece of play, which let Mullins in for the teams first. The score was 4 - 1 to the visitors at half time. Rangers put in a better performance in the second half, trying to get something out of the game. Unfortunately their determination to get another goal led to Hugin breaking on the counter, too many times. Burt got the second goal, from a well taken free kick and Curtis pulled off another great penalty save in the last 10 minutes of the game. It was a game that saw some great individual performances but unfortunately lacked in the team performance. Man of the match went to Hopper for his strong performances in two positions.

We will be training next Saturday at the usual times.

11/12/08
Thanington FC Under 16's have withdrawn from the league. This means that the points gained from our match against them, have been removed, and the goal difference has been adjusted.

07/12/08
Highfield United v White Cliffs Rangers FC, 2pm Kick Off - POSTPONED due to the pitches at the North School, Ashford, being in an unplayable condition.

30/11/08
Todays fixture was at home to Highfield United. After no game last week due to the fixture list, and the disapointment of the last game, Rangers had alot of work to do to ensure a result. The away team started the game the stronger, but Rangers soon took control of the play. Lambell started the goal tally from a cross which beat the keeper. Burt then got the second. A bit of sloppy play saw Highfield get a goal back. Rangers continued to play great football throughout the game. The final result was 7 - 2 to Rangers. Burt scored the teams first hatrick of the season. Man of the match could have gone to a number of players for their excellent work rate, though It went to captain Scott for his efforts in the midfield. This was the difference from the previous match, and the proof is in the goals and points.

16/11/08
Rangers travelled to Folkestone for todays game against Dynamo United. After a hat full of missed chances in the first half, Rangers went into the break only 1 nil up from a Stoner goal. The second half was a different game altogether as Dynamo equalised straight away. Rangers re-took the lead from a Mullins goal, but this was cancelled out soon after. Burt then scored a third, but this was cancelled out moments later when Dynamo were awarded a penalty. Curtis pulled off a great save, but Dynamo equalised again from the corner kick soon after the penalty save. The game ended 3 - 3, which was a fair result. Man of the match went to Betts for his work rate in defence.

09/11/08
Rangers were home to Deal Town Rangers Colts in a local derby. The away side went 1 nil up 3 minutes after the start. At half time, Rangers trailed 2 - 1. The second half saw Rangers filled with determination, as they played their football. Rangers finished the game on top with a score of 5 - 2, which saw 5 players hit the back of the net - Stoner, Humphries, Burt, Scott and Hopper. Man of the match went to Mackenzie for his strong performance at the back.

02/11/08
After a 2 week break, Rangers returned to this difficult fixture, away to Woodnesborough. Rangers started the first half very rusty. Woodnesborough made the breakthrough after a through ball and well timed run saw them 1 - 0 up. Rangers started to get into the game, and when half time came, it was litterally just the one goal that seperated the two sides. After some changes at half time Rangers tackled the second half in a positive way, blowing away the cob webs, and continually driving forward. Rangers efforts were rewarded when Humphries brought the two sides level. There was a feel in the air that there may be more goals in this fixture. Rangers continued their drive forward. Unfortuately, time was not on their side in the end, and the game ended 1 - 1. Man of the match went to Abbitt for keeping the backline strong throughout.

12/10/08
Today's fixture saw Rangers play a 9 man Thanington at home. Rangers played some great football in the first half, and goals came freely. It was 6 - 0 to Rangers at half time, with goals from Abbitt, Humphries, Burt, Holland, Mullins and Scott. Straight after the re-start, Thanington scored a goal. The half was completely different to the first, which saw Rangers sitting back and Thanington constantly going on the attack, though goal scoring opportunities didn't really develop for the visitors. Rangers got one more goal from Mullins, and he was unlucky not to get his hatrick when a decent effort hit the woodwork. Rangers took all 3 points after a comfortable win with a result of 7 - 1, which moves them up the table into 3rd position. Man of the match went to Captain Scott for his continuous high work rate in the midfield.

06/10/08
The League Table has been updated on this website. The League have been contacted regarding the incorrect result listed for yesterdays game. They had the correct result reported to them, but the result was put in as a draw. This will soon be updated on Full Time aswell, and we will move up to 5th in the table.

05/10/08
The rain did not stop play as Rangers travelled back to the Thanet area for the 3rd time this season, as they took on Ramsgate Youth Colts. With much to do, to improve on last weeks performance, Rangers started well. The deadlock was broken when Stoner back healed the ball into the net, which took Rangers into half time 1 nil up. Rangers went into the 2nd half looking to build on their lead and performance. Shortly after, Stoner put Rangers 2 nil up. After a long spell of great football, against the run of play, Rangers allowed the home side too much on the ball, and they brought 1 back. Rangers applied more pressure, and scored 2 more goals from Mullins and Holland. With all 3 points returning to The White Cliffs Country, the final result was 1 - 4. All 14 players played excellent, putting on a great team performance. Man of the match went to Stoner.

28/09/08
Rangers were away to Hugin Vikings Colts in the Albert Baines Memorial Cup competition. A disapointing game saw the Home side dominate and progress to the next stage after winning 7 - 0. The Man of the match went to Burt for his high work rate throughout the match.

21/09/08
Todays fixture saw Rangers play their first home game against Park Farm Rangers. Rangers played some great football, and over the whole 90 mins, both teams were equal in performance. Rangers took the lead with 15 mins to go, with a Mullins goal. Shortly after, Park Farm were awarded a penalty due to handball. The game was level. Park Farm Rangers scored 2 more goals in the final 10 minutes, to take all the points. Man of the match went to Lambell for his constant work effort down the right wing.

14/09/08
Rangers kicked off their season away to Hugin Vikings Colts. Although the home side took all 3 points, Rangers left with full pride, after every player put in 100% effort. There were 3 serious injuries sustained from the match, and we wish those players a speedy recovery.
Man of the match went to Curtis.

07/09/08
White Cliffs Rangers FC played their first pre-season friendly at home to 1st Division side Faversham Strike Force. The game was used as a learning exercise to provide match experience for some new recruits, and for the coaching staff to learn ideal player positioning, with 5 substitutions made every 15 minutes, which saw many players playing in new positions. Rangers effectively turned the 2 halfs of the game into 6 periods, with each period telling it's own story. Rangers evenly matched the away side for some of the periods, but fell short in others due to in-experience in positioning and game play. The game ended 1 - 8 to the visitors. Many thanks to Faversham strike Force for helping us make this game happen, and our good luck wish goes to them for their season. Man of the Match went to Hopper for his performances in a number of positions and for keeping the defence, which included a new in-experienced player, solid whilst he played in that position.

England v Ukraine 2010 World Cup Qualifier - Wednesday 1st April 2009.

Ok, this is a while yet, but White Cliffs Rangers FC are looking at making plans to go to Wembley to watch this important game. Some questions that must be asked first:
1) Will this interfere with school?
2) Numbers of tickets required?
Please have a think about the two questions above.
In the mean time, we will be looking at any other match that may become available to us, and the possibility of returning to the Valley to watch Charlton Athletic.

White Cliffs Rangers FC entered 2 teams into the Congo Cup, held at The Port Lympne Animal Park.
After putting on great displays in all games, both teams missed out on progression to the Semi Finals. With the rule 'No defenders allowed in the goal area or a penalty kick will be awarded', both teams came unstuck. The lines were difficult to see on the long grasslands.
Mullins scored his first goal for the club, on his club debute. Betts also increased his goal tally for the club. More information is available on the Tournament page.

Rangers slip to 5th in the table after Highfield United run riot against Park Farm Rangers, winning 10 - 2. Bromley Green beat Ashford Colts, which brings them level on points with Rangers. Rangers have a better goal difference, though Bromley Green still have 3 games to play.

30/03/08
Rangers played their final game of the season, at Home to Ashford Colts FC. A win would take their total points to 31, and within a chance of finishing the season either 6th, 5th or 4th, depending on how two other teams finish their final games. That would mean, that this topsy turvy season ended as a good result, considering it was the club's first season. Unfortunately Rangers never turned up to the game. The first half saw a very poor performance by Rangers, and the home side were lucky to be 1 nil down at half time, given the away side's chances. Changes were made at half time, and Rangers started the second half brighter, but against the run of play, they found themselves 2 nil down. Then, Burt, who worked his socks off, made a break, took a shot, and hit the post, but an alert Stoner followed up and put the ball in the net to make it 2 - 1. Kingsnorth hit the crossbar from middle of the field just before the equaliser. Sadly, they were the only highlights of the Home sides attacking performance, where creativity was scarce. The game ended 3 - 1 to Ashford Colts. Man of the match went to Humphries for his strong performance in both halves.

On this very wet and windy day, Rangers were away to Ashford Borough Colts. The away side started the game with urgency, creating chances and forcing corners. Holland opened the scoring with a goal from a corner. Soon after, Burt took his league tally to 16. The home side pushed forward, but were stopped by captain Bird with some crucial tackles. A couple of changes were made at half time. The second half saw both teams driving forward. Rangers had many shots, but most were wide. The home side never troubled Rangers keeper. The game ended 2-0 to Rangers. Man of the match went to Bird.

09/03/08
Rangers were home against Woodnesborough FC, a team that previously beat Rangers 5 - 3. The 1st half saw a change in formation, from any other this season. Rangers quickly took control of the game and created a few chances, which, unfortunately, weren't taken. The away side responded 10mins into the game, and piled huge pressure on the home side. They were ahead at the half hour mark. Immediate changes were made to calm the away sides surge of attacks. At half time, it was still 1 - 0 to the away side. Keeper Curtis had kept the shots (in the multiple figures) at bay. More changes were made for Rangers, reverting to previous formations. Rangers responded well to the changes, creating chances throughout the half. The away side also had chances, but were easily delt with by the defence. A free kick was awarded, just outside the away sides 18 yard box. Captain Bird stepped up and took a power shot at goal, only to be denied by the crossbar. The deflection into the 6 yard box was delt with by the defence. Soon after, another free kick was awarded, on the other side of the pitch, further out from the 18 yard box. Captain Bird stepped up again. This time, nothing stopped his shot.1 - 1, and Rangers felt there could be more in this game for them. More pressure applied, but the away side defended well. Man of the match went to Kingsnorth for his strong performance in midfield during the second half.

24/02/08
Following a poor run in the League, Rangers faced a very tough challenge during todays fixture, away to Current League Leaders Thanet Colts FC. Within minutes, Rangers took the lead from a Kingsnorth goal, which came from the away sides first shot of the game. The home side responded with a goal soon after. Rangers second shot, also from Kingsnorth, resulted in a 2nd goal. With the result 1 - 2 at half time, Thanet Colts came out looking for a result. Rangers, unlike previous weeks, took advantage of their creativity and found themselvesin the lead for most of the game. Their final goal came when captain Scott made a surging run through the mid area, and took a shot into the back of the net. Thanet Colts never gave up, and clawed their way back into the points, with an equaliser 1minute from the final whistle. The match was refreshingly played in good sport by both sides, throughout the whole match. Man of the match went to Hopper for his resiliance at the back.

17/02/08
Rangers were home to Park Farm Rangers FC. Rangers played some good football and created chances, but were unable to take advantage of the creativity. Rangers came close early on after a shot from a corner kick hit the woodwork, but it was the away side that made the break through just before half time, and finally put the game to rest late in the second half. Man of the match went to Weakley.

09/02/08
Due to lack of pitches available in the Dover/Deal area, the fixture between White Cliffs Rangers Fc and Betteshanger Colts was played Saturday morning, with a 10.30am kick off. Rangers carried on from their performance last week, keen to get a result, by dominating much of the game. However, Rangers were punished for not being able to convert their chances, and lost 1 - 2. This game was an example of 'Result not showing the true picture', as the performance that Rangers displayed today deserved at least a point. The team must keep their heads high as they done everyone proud again. Man of the Match went to Burt.

03/02/08
Rangers were away to Highfield United. Rangers took a little while to settle down into the game, and after conceding an early goal, they got back into the game. This was a game that saw some superb football from Rangers, great creativity, an excellent performance from many individuals, great passion for the game, a debut goal for Steger and 2 goals for Holland in only his 2nd game for the club.  Although they returned with nil points, they have done themselves, their manager, their parents and their club proud! Man of the match went to Holland.

27/01/08
Rangers were home to Dynamo United. Rangers played some good football and created chances, but were unable to take advantage of the creativity. Dynamo United, however, put on a great display and showed that the standings in the table don't always paint the true picture. For much of the game, it was anyone's game. The game ended with a fair 0 - 0 result. Man of the match went to Humphries.

Rangers returned from the Christmas break, feeling the effects of a good Christmas. A sharp performance from Bromley Green mean't that the away side deservedly took the points. Man of the match went to Betts for his continuous efforts for the team.

16/12/07
Rangers played their last game until after the Christmas break against Betteshangers Colts FC. Betteshanger took control of the game, and scored their first early in the first half. Rangers responded by picking up their game, and at half time it was just a case of the 1 goal seperating the sides. Rangers started the second half the brighter, pressing forward and creating chances. A major blow came deep into the second half, when the home side were awarded a questionable penalty kick, for allegedly catching a players feet and not the ball. Two nil down, and Betteshanger picked their game up more. The play was end to end. Betteshanger scored their third, sealing the win. Man of the match went to Kingsnorth.

On this cold winters day, Rangers played some wonderful football in the fixture against the current league leaders Ashford Borough Colts. Rangers took control of the game and came away with the 3 points. The game ended 5 - 1. Man of the match went to Hopper.

11/11/07
Rangers struggled to get going in this fixture. After dominating the first half, Rangers found themselves 1 nil down against the run of play. Then just before the break there came an equaliser. Unfortunately it was wrongly ruled offside by the home teams Referee. A Rangers player moved into space, played the ball back for the striker to tap home. It was ruled as offside. Then, into the second half, another bad decision went against Rangers. The ball went out for a corner, the linesman flagged for this, but the players kept playing on, and as the ball was hit back into the field of play, a Rangers defender handled the ball after seeing the flag, and the Referee gave a penalty to his team. It was all down hill from here as Rangers were seemingly up against it. The game ended 5 - 3 to Woodnesborough. Man of the match went to Curtis.

Due to the school half term break, Rangers were only able to field 11 players in todays very tough fixture against Thanet Colts. Rangers put everything they had into the game, and at the half time break, they were leading 1 - 0 thanks to a Humphries goal. The home side were put to the test in the second half as Thanet Colts came at them, and tired legs developed fast. Rangers came away with 3 massive points after winning 3 - 2. The Man of the match was awarded to Scott, and after todays performance, the whole team should pat themselves on the back, as they have made the Club so proud.

14/10/07
Rangers met a resiliant side at the Ridge against Park Farm Rangers FC. Some may say that the away side deserved a draw, after looking at the match stats, but it was the home Rangers who clinched the points after winning 4 - 2.
