HEALTH AND SAFETY
White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the Health, Safety and Welfare of all Club members.
Personal Safety
Personnel will not be able to participate in physical activities if they are carrying an injury.
Jewellery, watches and glasses are not permitted whilst participating in training or matches.
First-Aid
White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will make sure that:
. There is a qualified first-aider or emergency-aider
. There is a suitable first-aid kit
. There is an emergency telephone
. The address of the venue being played at is known
. A first-aid policy is put into effect and adhered to.
Incidents and Accidents
White Cliffs Rangers Football Club has produced a procedure, which is to be followed in the event of an Incident and Accident. A medical questionnaire for each player is to be carried to all White Cliffs Rangers Football Club’s activities, by a Club Official, which is to include emergency contact information. Also, a listing of contact numbers and addresses for A&E departments in the area is to be carried.
Risk Assessment
White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will carry out a risk assessment of the venues that the Club uses once a season. White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will report any problems found to the local authorities for their attention. The assessment will be recorded on a ‘Risk Assessment Form’, and handed to the Club Secretary for filing, and to be reported where necessary. All Risk Assessments will be logged on a ‘Risk Assessment Record Sheet’.
Safety Inspection
White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will carry out Safety Inspections of the venues that the Club uses, at regular intervals, i.e. on a monthly basis. White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will rectify any problems found, or report the problem to the local authorities for their attention. The Safety Inspection will be recorded on a ‘Safety Inspection Form’, and handed to the Club Secretary for filing, and to be reported where necessary. All Safety Inspections will be logged on a ‘Safety Inspection Record Sheet’.
Goal Posts
White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will follow the FA goal post safety guidelines.
Training venue
White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will inspect the area of the Training venue prior to the session. Any obstacles or other safety concerns found will be attended to so that the area is safe for the session to commence. Any problems found that cannot be rectified, will be reported to the Local Authorities for their attention. Unless an alternative, safe area is found, the session will be cancelled.
The Training venue selected will be easily accessible to all personnel.
Playing venue
White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will ensure that the Playing venue will be easily accessible to all personnel.
On the day of the match, the following will be checked for safety:
. The pitch
. The goal posts
. That the corner flags follow the laws of the game
. That the changing rooms have no safety concerns.
Equipment
White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will use equipment that has been approved by the standards institute. All equipment will be examined prior to use for damage. i.e. that the balls are not split. All players must demonstrate that they are wearing shin guards and the correct footwear. i.e. boots with all studs securely fitted, and no jagged edges.
Warm up
White Cliffs Rangers Football Club will always do a warm up.
